The pandemic has brought economic hardship to countless families and threatens a generational wipeout of mothers’ careers. At the start of 2020, women achieved a historic milestone they held more jobs than men (50.3%). Since the pandemic began, women have lost 5.4 million jobs, 1 million more than men. In December 2020, employers cut 140,000 jobs all of them were held by women and most of them by Black and Latina women.
